MUSOQ KARPAY – CHALLMACHIMPANA Q’ERO
We have left Cusco early in the morning travelling to Hatun Q’eros (known as the last Inca ayllu).
On our way we have visited the archaeological park of Ninamarca and then continued to the Paucartambo folk village. There we have observed the center where we have seen statues dressed in traditonal costumes and a pro Mother Earth demonstration made by local children.
Then we have travelled almost 2 hours on unpaved roads going up to 4500m altitude. The views are breathtaking, for my wife it was scary to look out from the window of the bus seeing the steep hillside above, but we had the best driver - Alfredo, and we have arrived to Challmachimpana - a village surrounded by beautiful mountains.
In the evening Eduardo the Andean Priest has performed the Musoq Karpay - the initiation of the times will come.
